The new Silko ® PF range is equipped with a unique plastic-free scuff protection, making it the first of its kind in the market. Acquired by Contiweb in 2022, this development further expands the company’s integrated solutions offering.
WS print is a specialist and market leader in Silko® silicone emulsions for web offset printing and alco down® dampening solutions. As a responsible company, it has always taken ecological and sustainable aspects into account when developing new products. Silko® PF is the result of this commitment to environmental protection, achieved through the intelligent selection of various additives. The result is an anti-abrasive emulsion free of microplastics, which is impressively innovative.
Silko® PF is also free of labelling, making it easy to store without any problems. It provides the paper web with excellent anti-blocking and slip properties, making it more resistant to mechanical stress. The product avoids damage to the printed ink surfaces and ink build-up on rollers, spindles and folder superstructure. At the same time, the paper web is optimally remoistened, promising the best wetting properties without stains or streaking. It is also extraordinarily homogeneous, suitable even for long storage.
The Silko® PF range is available in concentrations of 15–60%, with the recommended dosage being 5–20%. The product promises to deliver excellent results, ensuring the highest quality in printing while also being environmentally friendly.
‘We are thrilled to introduce Silko® PF, a revolutionary and environmentally friendly silicone range that sets a new standard in the market,’ said Dr. Holger Popitz Head of R&D. ‘With our commitment to sustainability, we have taken great care to develop a product that not only delivers excellent results but is also environmentally friendly. We are confident that Silko® PF will be well received by our customers, who are looking for innovative and sustainable solutions.’
‘WS print’s Silko® PF is an important step for the printing industry, offering superior quality and environmental sustainability. It is a testament to the company’s commitment to sustainability and innovation, and we are excited to see its impact on the market.’
