The manufacturer’s Treofan® and TreoPore® are aimed at the packaging and tobacco industries, labels, and technical films for electronic applications such as batteries and capacitors. At the Xeikon Café, Treofan focused on BOPP film solutions as print media for the digital print in-mold labelling market.

Joachim Jung, Treofan Business Development explained, ‘Being an entrepreneur in the in-mold segment, we have the strategic mindset to be at the forefront of any new developments. This is why we like supporting Xeikon Café so much. The opportunity to be part of the knowledge sharing network and event enables us to be aware of leading developments so we can best focus ours on supporting customers in the most effective way.’

He continued, ‘As Xeikon is a leading supplier of digital printing solutions in the in-mold label segment, we recognise what the company has to offer and how this technology will open up many new market segments in the future. We can see the digital print segment expanding. Cross functional partnerships will become increasingly important to support end users as they broaden their service offering.

‘During the Xeikon Café, the Treofan EUH70 for the production of in-mold labels for thin walled plastic and Treofan ELR70 for the production of in-mold labels for thick walled plastic was used. The production will involve printing on a Xeikon 3500 with ICE toner and converting to a final in-mold label on a Rietstack converting unit.’
