The printing solutions operation of Trelleborg and South African distributor for the Vulcan offset blanket brand Thunderbolt Graphics have announced a series of open days and workshops during April, including one at Thunderbolt’s newly opened facilities in Johannesburg.
In addition to presenting the latest developments in Trelleborg offset blankets, German manufacturer Weilburger Graphics will join the workshops to showcase its water-based and UV coating solutions.
Thunderbolt sales director, Wayne Stevens, said, ‘Along with Trelleborg, we hosted similar roadshows a couple of years ago and these were extremely popular with packaging and commercial printers. With technology moving on so quickly, we decided that it was time to organise another series and we’re delighted to be joined by technical experts from Trelleborg and Weilburger Graphics. The forthcoming roadshows will cover a range of areas relevant to packaging and commercial printers. With the latter increasingly moving into the packaging sector, we expect an even bigger uptake from this market than last time.’
Delegates will be able to hear about the latest developments in offset blanket technology, in particular Vulcan Folio, Vulcan Zenith and Vulcan Sunrise, while Trelleborg experts will also be talking about coating plate technology, including the most recent news concerning products such as Vulcan X-Coat, Vulcan X-Coat Plus and Vulcan 714 Strip.
The Thunderbolt roadshows will take place on the following dates and venues:
• Tuesday 17 April – Thunderbolt premises, 11 Techno Crescent – Epping, Cape Town.
• Wednesday 18 April – Durban Country Club, Durban.
• Thursday 19 April – Thunderbolt’s premises, 7 Angus Crescent, Longmeadow Office Park, Johannesburg.
