The new RICOH Pro™ C9500 digital colour sheetfed next-generation press builds on the success of the RICOH Pro™ C9200 and incorporates advanced technologies to enhance productivity, quality and streamline operations, creating new application possibilities.
Improved efficiency and automation leads to significant labour savings throughout the entire workflow, supporting cost control and business expansion while freeing up time for other essential tasks.
The flagship toner-based press is designed to facilitate the transition from analogue to digital printing or upgrade the print on demand-oriented digital capabilities for commercial specialists.
Enhancing operational and maintenance management, the newly developed Graphic Communications Operating System (RICOH GC OS) engine controller features a larger user-friendly screen with an intuitive interface. It is compatible with external diagnostic systems and maintenance programmes, allowing users to access the printer remotely from a PC or tablet, making it ideal for multi-skilled environments where operators perform various tasks.
The new Auto Colour Diagnosis Unit is responsible for greater automation and operational efficiency, automating critical inspections in commercial printing, including quality, registration, and colour fluctuation. This unit ensures improved inspection accuracy and offers automatic reprinting and purging functions for increased efficiency post-inspection. The setting procedure has also been simplified with seven detection levels to choose from.
The RICOH Pro C9500 boasts enhanced media handling capabilities for paper ranging from 40gsm to 470gsm, with extended input and output options for media up to 1260mm.
A newly developed fusing system allows media to pass smoothly through the fusing process, applying heat and pressure evenly to achieve high image quality on various substrates.
It also features a new paper transfer unit for improved front-to-back registration and a speed upgrade of up to 135ppm through a productivity module that can be installed after the initial setup.
Powerful Digital Front End (DFE) options have been developed in collaboration with Fiery, supporting operational efficiency and effectiveness. There are also new finishing options, including the GBC StreamPunch Plus for inline creasing and perforating and the Plockmatic Crease Trimmer unit for top and bottom trimming and creasing.
Jolene Castelyn, Marketing Executive at Ricoh Southern Africa, said the Pro C9500’s capabilities will empower commercial printers to expand their production reach: ‘The printer’s exceptional hardware functionality is enriched by a range of value-added software options, including RICOH TotalFlow Supervisor™, RICOH TotalFlow Production Manager, and RICOH FusionPro, enabling clients to maximise the effectiveness and return on their Ricoh investment.’
The RICOH Pro C9500 digital colour sheetfed press, incorporating proven technologies from the RICOH Pro C9200 such as VCSEL technology, DEMS, fusing belt smoothing roller, DSC, registration adjustment, and inline sensor system, will be available from September.
