ORIS Lynx and IC3D Suite attended the Colour Management Conference in Phoenix, Arizona which took place from 7-10 December 2013. Both the ORIS Lynx and IC3D Suite (plus the entire ORIS product line) were shown at the CGS booth.
Each year the Colour Management Conference concentrates on the question ‘But will my colour match?’ and this year there was added education and networking tracks for brand managers, agency executives, designers and marketing professionals.
Colour and brand consistency is more important than ever and the CGS booth highlighted two revolutionary products alongside its ORIS suite of colour management products to help manage the madness. ORIS Lynx represents the cloud-based colour management solution, and for the packaging industry IC3D Suite from Creative Edge Software is the world’s first Real-Time 3D packaging visualisation, ideation and design application in one product.
Earlier this year at Print13 in Chicago, both solutions were recognised: ORIS Lynx received the coveted 2013 InterTech Technology Award from the Printing Industries of America, and IC3D Suite was named a Must See ‘Ems award recipient. ‘Companies seeking new ways to control costs, and new revenue opportunities, now have two tools ready to help them along the way,’ said CEO Trevor Haworth. ‘We’re excited about the response to ORIS Lynx and IC3D Suite after their launches this fall, and continue to see new ways they help reduce the stress of daily operations.’
ORIS LYNX-COLOUR MANAGEMENT IN THE CLOUD
The latest edition to CGS’ colour management family, ORIS Lynx is the only cloud-based colour management solution to generate both device link and ICC profiles to control the quality and consistency of CMYK or RGB output on a wide range of devices. The unique system uses the core technology found in ORIS Colour Tuner and ORIS Press Matcher via a secure Internet client/server connection for access anywhere, anytime in the world.
ORIS Lynx’s SaaS-based solution makes it easier for small and medium sized printers to achieve effective colour control within their processes. Patented colour management algorithms accurately reproduce colours and the relationship between the four printing inks is carefully calculated producing an outstanding neutral grey balance and overall reduction in the amount of toner or ink used.
IC3D SUITE-INSPIRING 3D CREATIVITY FOR PACKAGING DESIGNERS
IC3D Suite is the first application to combine multiple packaging disciplines and processes into a single product. The technology, which beautifully simplifies 3D, uses a patented Auto Mesh Mapping process allowing labels and artwork to be placed accurately on complex packaging models in Real Time as opposed to tedious UVW mapping of texture coordinates by a third party specialist.
IC3D Suite also provides simple importing and creation of sophisticated materials like refracting glass, metallic effects, holographics or even lenticular effects.
