Novus Holdings has appointed Marlene McConnell as company secretary, who has extensive leadership experience having established a number of director training programmes and compliance frameworks and strategies in previous positions.
McConnell has a wealth of experience spanning more than a decade as a company secretary in the listed environment. She has, throughout her career, served on a number boards where she was primarily focused on overseeing portfolios related to corporate governance, legal compliance and sustainability.
She has held numerous non-executive director roles where she has contributed to strategic matters, monitored performance against set targets and has set the tone for an integrated culture that is focused on adding value for all stakeholders. In her role as trustee, she has gained exposure and contributed to the overall strategy and policies as it relates to the funding, investing and disbursements of funds. Holding both a B.Proc and LLB from the University of the Western Cape and a LLM: Shipping Law from the University of Cape Town, McConnell is also an admitted attorney.
