The Morgana DigiFold Pro XL heavy-duty automatic creasing and folding system is built with a unique, open design and a suction feeder that handles stock sizes from 210mm to 1300mm in length. Southampton general print business, Colour Company, has upgraded its creasing and folding capability by installing this machine.
The new unit joins an existing Morgana DigiFold Pro and a Morgana AutoCreaser. Commenting on the new DigiFold Pro XL, Kevin West, Managing Director of ColourCo, said, ‘It’s marvellous, as we don’t have any spare room here, versatile finishing equipment is an essential. We’ve had a long-standing relationship with Morgana. Their equipment is ideal for our needs, and the latest DigiFold Pro XL is an excellent example of that: creasing, folding, perforating – it’s amazing.’
With regard to any specific work that the new machine was purchased for, West added, ‘We are now able to produce a six-page A5 brochure, which has a perforated section on the last page, in one pass – creasing, perforating and folding. A real time-saver.’
This heavy-duty automatic creasing and folding system is designed to complement mid-to-high volume digital and offset production presses. This top of the range model folds up to 6000 A4 per hour, or in ‘crease only’ mode 7500 per hour. It has a maximum loading capacity 200mm, and a stock range of 80 to 400gsm. The top-fed vacuum feeder ensures stable production for long runs. Full cross perforation is also available, along with the ability to add up to five inline perforation/scoring wheels. The machine is able to create up to 30 creases per sheet.
Commenting on behalf of the equipment supplier, Ray Hillhouse, VP Sales and Marketing for the Plockmatic Group Offline Business Unit said, ‘It’s great to be able to continue our relationship with Kevin and the ColourCo team. The versatility of the DigiFold machine frequently comes into its own in the smaller premises, where space is at a premium. This latest DigiFold Pro XL product really is the finishing device that can speed up production of a great many of the UK’s print businesses.’
