Colop Marking Solutions SA has announced that the new e-mark – a palm-sized mobile printer that makes printing in colour directly on any absorbent surface possible, with just a simple sideways swipe of the device – is now available in South Africa.
The device can be used to mark packages, labels or documents with barcodes, article numbers or other information. With its inbuilt battery and QR and barcode generator included in the app, it can be used wherever needed. Use adhesive labels to mark non-absorbent surfaces, such as plastic, glass or metal. It can also be used to mark on such non-absorbent surfaces temporarily. The device can be used in commercial printing environments, as shown in the video below:
The device is based on inkjet technology that functions in combination with an app. For the cartridge, COLOP entered into a cooperation with Hewlett Packard Packard Specialty Printing Systems, to ensure the best possible performance and imprint quality.
The app was developed for smartphones or tablets (Android and iOS) as well as a software for PCs. Templates, texts, logos or photos can be stamped in full colour. Date, time or numbering functions are included, as well as a barcode and QR code generator. Via WLAN, the data can be sent to the e-mark (or via USB cable from the PC).
Imprints are transferred quickly and can be printed immediately. Markings on the side of the device ensure a reliable positioning on documents or items. A notch on the side of the device shows the centre line of the imprint. A transparent window in the front provides a better view of the imprint during marking.
The e-mark is also a multifunctional office tool to stamp on printed documents, mark on folders or on other office supplies, expanding the possibilities of office life. Special functions such as the automatic date and time function, the QR and barcode generator and a set of templates, simplify office work.Available in Black or White with a protective case.
