The effort required to research spare parts via catalogues and parts lists seems unimaginably large. Manroland Goss makes parts-identification easier via Partium, the web app for spare parts.
The new web application from manroland Goss provides a solution by searching for parts online with Partium – via mobile and for PC.
Manroland Goss printing systems are complex. In some cases, they consist of up to 40,000 parts that are installed in up to 500 assemblies. Depending on the press type, this results in up to 10,000 consumable parts that have to be replaced regularily.
Manroland Goss offers easy parts identification via Partium app using combined image, semantic text and parts list search.
Web application for desktop and mobile speeds up reordering of spare and wear parts with patented machine learning.
Call-an-Expert function enables direct contact with manroland Goss experts via Partium app in case of queries.
With between 5,000 and 10,000 consumable parts, depending on the type of press and series, it is difficult to maintain an overview. With the Partium app, manroland Goss provides a remedy for confusing and time-consuming identification processes. Since February, customers have been able to use the Partium app to identify the required spare part or contact an expert directly.
The Partium image search makes it much easier to identify the parts you are looking for. The Partium app recognises the spare parts in their disassembled and assembled state and subsequently enables precise search results through filter options such as designation, dimensions, weight and parts list information.
The search function goes beyond simple image matching. Rather, the patented AI technology ‘understands’ the technical concept of the part being searched for and its intended use.
Based on millions of parts data that have been analyzed in advance, the customer quickly receives an accurate search result – without any descriptions of the product they are looking for.
In addition to the image search, Partium also enables a smart search by text input. With just a description of the spare part being searched for, the text recognition already finds the product. Numerous filter options according to ID, brand name and dimensions of the spare part allow a quick search, but also individual machine types can be selected. This way, the application ensures that the search result is compatible with the desired machine. Users can find the right spare part quickly and easily, without having to know the exact product designation.
In addition to text and image searches, manroland Goss customers can also navigate to the spare part they are looking for within their manroland press. Via aggregates and assemblies, the customer gets to the stored material numbers. An additional filter option further limits the product suggestions in addition to the press-specific navigation, thus improving the results. The parts list search is particularly recommended for customers who already know the machine or assembly of the article they are looking for.
Parts identification is not possible? A real manroland Goss expert is available to assist customers with parts identification. Contact is also established simply by clicking in the Partium app to save additional email correspondence. Customers submit up to five photos and enter additional supplements via a text box. Based on the customer’s entries and filter settings, the expert recognises the customer’s approach and develops a targeted solution. The customer is then contacted via e- mail or phone.
In addition to the mobile solution, manroland Goss now offers Partium as a web application for desktops. This runs on the most popular internet browsers and can be accessed with the same user data as the mobile version. This allows customers to make optimum use of Partium’s various functions: they can use the AI-powered image search quickly and easily via tablet and smartphone, and maintain an overview of the parts list search and semantic text search on large desktop screens.
