West Rand-based Lithotech Blesston recently replaced its original system with an HP Indigo 5000r sheetfed digital press from Kemtek. The press was remanufactured in Israel according to HP Indigo’s strict reconditioning programme.
Equipped with a full warranty and HP Indigo’s liquid ElectroInk technology, the 5000r can print 68 full colourA4 images/min and comes complete with three paper-feeding trays, an advanced paper transport system that requires no adjustment when changing paper type, and a 600mm high-capacity paper stacker that enables unloading while printing.
Lithotech Blesston’s digital production manager, Cobus Rossouw said, ‘The upgrade from our previous system to the HP Indigo 5000r was very smooth. Once the system was installed, Kemtek’s application support and training specialist provided comprehensive training for our team, ensuring we had a broad understanding of the equipment and its capabilities. Furthermore, we continue to be well supported by the rest of the Kemtek team and technical sales representative, Clive Upton. They are always happy to assist, should we have any queries or questions.’
Used primarily for short- to medium-volume runs such as promotional leaflets and labels, brochures and business cards, the 5000r is proving itself as a cost-effective, quality printing system. ‘The 5000r press is very compact, clean and easy to operate,’ said Rossouw. ‘With no ink mess and minimum waste, it takes just a few minutes to set up each job and start achieving top-class print and perfect registration.’
In terms of versatility, the HP Indigo 5000r’s wide digital colour gamut, including special effect inks, can be used on more than 2500 certified substrates, from uncoated and coated papers, to recycled/ eco-friendly papers.
