Kemtek has reported a successful Africa Print Expo. The company won the ‘Best Mega Stand’ award at the expo (co-located with the inaugural FESPA Africa), which was held at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg from 2-4 July.

The company presented an unparalleled selection of prepress, digital printing and finishing technologies from leading global principals such as HP Indigo, Durst, Aristo, EngView, Screen, Sibress and Duplo at the expo, which took place from 2-4 July 2014 at Gallagher Convention Centre.

Numerous visitors from across southern Africa visited the interactive stand to watch live demonstrations of the world-renowned HP Indigo 7600 digital production press, the new-generation Durst P10/320R industrial roll-to-roll wide-format UV digital printer, Aristo’s TL1625 cutting table, Duplo perfect binders and PUR binders and EngView’s advanced prepress software, plus much more. And, as always, Kemtek brand specialists were on hand to discuss machine specifications and capabilities, plus tailor-made options when required.

With digital printing fast becoming an essential part of any printing business, trade visitors were looking to source technologies that add real value to their business and in the wide-format sector, were genuinely impressed by the quality and production of the Durst P10/320R industrial press.

The first of its kind in South Africa, it’s a versatile 3 200mm-wide UV large-format press that produces top-quality images for high visibility, backlit applications, textiles and stretch media, plus POS/POP material and small- and medium-sized packaging. The proprietary Quadro Array 10 printhead technology and the magnetic linear drive carriage system are significant technical innovations that render the Durst Rho P10/320R the highest quality and fastest device in its class.

‘The larger-than-life Durst press was a real show stopper, and I’m happy to reveal that the machine on display was sold and delivered directly after the show!’ said Group MD, Gavin van Rensburg.

Kemtek product specialist, Johan Faurie, reported several purchases were made on finishing equipment, significantly the Duplo FKS-KB4000PUR binder and DC645 Cutter/Creaser. ‘Delivering a perfectly glued and trimmed digitally-produced book without any ‘cracking’ is a prerequisite, and we’re finding that many agencies are now specifying PUR Binding to their printer,’ he said. ‘As a result, we’re getting a flurry of enquiries about Duplo’s easy to use, cost effective systems.

‘Overall, interest in all systems on show was overwhelmingly positive, serving to confirm Kemtek’s providing world-class systems that meet the demands of the modern digital print market,’ added van Rensburg. ‘We would like to thank all our valued customers who joined us on the stand to meet with our expert team and dedicated international principals to discuss future investment opportunities.’
