Heidelberg’s Print Media Academy hosted the Prinect User Days 2013 workshop, which took place over four days at the start of November. The event’s organisers were delighted to welcome more than 300 participants from all over Europe.
Under the motto ‘by users for users’, numerous lectures and a total of 24 workshops were packed with expertise and information on the latest Prinect developments since drupa 2012 and on future innovations. Participants had the opportunity to expand their expertise in relevant workshops and stimulating discussions. In times of structural change, efficient print shop management plays a more crucial role than ever in the economic success or failure of a print shop.
Lectures on personnel management and staff motivation were therefore intended to encourage companies to understand the need for authentic and future-oriented employee management in response to the ongoing structural changes and associated uncertainty within businesses. Workshop topics included detailed discussions on firm favourites from the areas of prepress and MIS, web-to-print, automation, LE-UV, and packaging printing.
Expert lectures and in-depth workshops ventured a look to the future by focusing on the topics of Creative Cloud and multi-channel publishing as additional business opportunities for print shops and media service providers. Outside of the lectures and workshops, participants were also given plenty of time to network and share experiences with fellow users and Prinect developers from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG.
Martin Klein, Managing Director of ctrl-s and a member of the Prinect User Days organising team said, ‘This close contact between users and Prinect developers plays a crucial role in driving forward the fast and targeted further development of the print shop workflow. It significantly reduces development times, which ultimately brings benefits for all users. We are therefore already looking forward to the next User Days in fall 2014.’
