FUJIFILM Graphic Communication South Africa’s event, held on 26 April at its Johannesburg office, allowed attendees to preview both ground-breaking new products and key existing solutions that FUJIFILM will feature at drupa 2024.
Solutions such as analogue, digital, toner, inkjet, printheads, inks and software will be showcased this year on FUJIFILM’s biggest ever drupa stand (2420sqm) in Hall 8b, stand A02. The company’s theme this year is ‘Discover the difference’, and the exhibition will showcase a wide range of solutions for customers to experience FUJIFILM Group’s ‘difference’ in value. Drupa is taking place from May 28 to June 7 in Düsseldorf. FUJIFILM Graphic Communication South Africa representatives will be on the stand to welcome visitors from Africa.
‘FUJIFILM has been consistent for 90 years. Our goal is to lead the transition to digital, and you can see this by the size of our stand at drupa, and by the magnitude of the equipment that we’re launching,’ said FUJIFILM Graphic Communication South Africa’s general manager, Grant Potgieter. ‘FUJIFILM spends over 8 million US dollars per day on R&D to make your business better, and to make your business flourish. We will never stop redeveloping, reengineering and rethinking. Come to drupa and discover the difference with FUJIFILM.’
Drupa Product Highlights
Visitors can see the recently released Jet Press FP790, a water-based inkjet digital press that brings innovation to the flexible packaging printing process, and the new automation options for the hybrid wide format machine, enabling even higher production capacity. Alongside this, FUJIFILM’s award-winning Acuity range of wide format inkjet printers will be showcased, as well as a broad range of applications delivered by FUJIFILM Group’s latest technology, including signage and packaging.
FUJIFILM offers customised printing equipment and inks through FUJIFILM Integrated Inkjet Solutions. The company will present case studies across a wide range of applications, including direct mail, transactional printing, labels, and embellishments, demonstrating its proven track record.
FUJIFILM will introduce Aquafuze technology, a new water-based ink that prioritises safety and environmental considerations, as a key inkjet technology element. This innovative ink technology encompasses the functionalities of UV and solvent inks while still being water-based, contributing to customers’ job expansion and work environment improvement.
FUJIFILM will also exhibit the RxD Series, a pigment dispersion with high stability in the face of diversifying ink formulations spurred by digitalisation. This supports ink formulation designs that meet the increasing need for faster inkjet systems and broader substrate compatibility.
Visitors can explore the latest insights into the Jet Press 750S, highly respected for more than a decade with its incomparable print quality, achieved through unique inkjet technology.
The Revoria Press GC12500 will also be exhibited. Its use of dry toner allows for impressive paper versatility and high usability. In addition to the two B2 digital presses, the Jet Press 1160CFG, a full colour high-speed continuous feed inkjet printing system for the commercial print market, will be exhibited for the first time. Two new mid-range production printers will also be unveiled for the first time. This new press is modelled on the hugely successful Revoria Press PC1120, with its specialty colours and massive application range, which will also feature in the commercial area.
The new FUJIFILM DE1024 Digital Embellishment Printbar System and FUJIFILM 42X Printbar System are designed to enhance printing capabilities for several applications, including commercial printing, packaging and label, security printing and personal care. The DE1024 integrates directly onto label presses and other narrow-web machines and can add stunning gloss highlights or tactile effects registered precisely to preprint. The FUJIFILM 42X is used with Kao Collins’ X-BAR® Universal Controller to create a streamlined workflow.
New processless plates for offset printing and DX solutions for automation and streamlining with workflow software, will also feature, in addition to demonstrations of FUJIFILM photographic products. The inclusion of third party finishing equipment will showcase the huge variety of applications possible with FUJIFILM technology.
In the last three years, FUJIFILM has completely redesigned and relaunched their Acuity range of wide format printers, with the Acuity Prime and Acuity Ultra ranges expanded to include powerful hybrid options. Both the Acuity Prime Hybrid and Acuity Ultra Hybrid LED will be featured at drupa, the latter showcased with some exciting new features and developments.
FUJIFILM Graphic Communication South Africa is also hosting a drupa preview event in Cape Town, taking place 3 May from 10-12pm at Eikenhof Estate in Fischer Road. Reserve your spot here. There is also the option to attend virtually.
Potgieter also introduced Daisy Business Solutions, which have been selected as FUJIFILM’s partner for its toner side of the business. ‘It’s important to have a very strong technical arm, and it’s important to have a very strong financial solution in that space. We believe that Daisy are the partners that can help us to progressively and aggressively bring this product to market and support it the way it needs to be supported, and differentiate our offering a little bit more than what current suppliers offer in the market,’ added Potgieter.
‘Daisy Solutions has been around for 35 years. We are probably the largest print technology service provider in the country. We have a vast variety of services, including tailored, in-house and flexible finance. Account management and service delivery are key. We provide the right product with service delivery that you can count on,’ said Marco Ortelee, Daisy Business Solutions.
