Following its participation in the Tokyo and Seoul conferences in 2019, Sustainable Brands 2020 Yokohama – which Epson participated in – was the third time Epson had featured at a Sustainable Brands conference.
These conferences, held in 14 cities and 13 nations in the 2019 fiscal year (ending March 2020), provide participants with an opportunity to highlight their sustainability efforts with the aim of building corporate recognition and promoting engagement. Seeking to become an indispensable company to its customers and society, Epson showcased its sustainability efforts, promoted awareness of its strategic direction and the value the company offers, and built relationships within the SB community.
In addition to the plenary session speech on CTO sustainability initiatives, Epson demonstrated a PaperLab, the world’s first dry-process office papermaking system, as an innovative paper recycling and environmental office solution. Moreover, Epson presented live demonstrations of a virtual office and virtual school as solutions for reducing travel and improving communication with individuals in remote locations. Epson is engaged in cooperative initiatives to find solutions to social issues through, for example, collaboration with local governments and participation in a session to discuss education from the perspective of educators.
Epson’s stated goal is to be an indispensable company, one that is committed to openness, customer satisfaction and sustainability. The company tackles customer needs, address societal challenges, and create unique environmental value through their business activities with the aim of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations and creating a better and more sustainable future. Sustainable Brands 2020 Yokohama was held on 19 and 20 February. Seiko Epson Director, Managing Executive Officer, and CTO Yasunori Ogawa was a plenary session speaker.
