EFI has acquired Lector Computersysteme GmbH, a print management information systems (MIS) developer based in Mönchengladbach, Germany. Lector is a leading provider of German-language MIS software, and the acquisition will strengthen EFIs MIS leadership position in Europe.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed as it is not expected to be material to EFIs Q4 or full-year 2013 results. Lectors employees have joined EFI and will report to Sean Whelan, director of EMEA-region operations in EFIs Productivity Software business.

Marc Olin, EFIs interim CFO and senior vice president and general manager said, 'Germany has always been one of the worlds largest printing industry markets, so we are pleased to have Lector Computersysteme join EFI.'

'EFI continues to prove it is a world-class provider when it comes to helping printing companies improve their management operations and grow profitably,' said Frank Mertzbach, founder and former owner of Lector. 'We are excited to give our customers access to technology from the worlds leading developer of print MIS software.'

Lectors MIS products will become part of the EFI Productivity Software family of products. Lectors technology will also be integrated with EFI Wide Format and EFI VUTEk super wide format inkjet printers, as well as with EFI Fiery, the leading digital front end platform for Xerox, Canon, Ricoh and Konica Minolta printers and copiers. EFI will also continue to support the existing Lector client base, which consists of approximately 1,000 customers.
