EFIs PrintMe Mobile, a server-based enterprise software that enables printing from any mobile device to any networked printer regardless of brand, is now available in Europe.

PrintMe Mobile turns existing printers into Wi-Fi printers, mitigating the costs of purchasing new Wi-Fi or AirPrint-enabled MFPs (multi functional printers), and is scalable up to thousands of users across multiple wireless subnets. PrintMe Mobile is easy to deploy, use and manage, and supports five languages, including English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. The full version of PrintMe Mobile software is available from resellers throughout Europe and can be downloaded for a free 45-day trial.

PrintMe Mobile is an enterprise mobile printing solution that provides IT departments with versatility, scalability, integration, central management and cross-subnet capability not found in any other Wi-Fi printing solution. The software enables secure enterprise level Wi-Fi printing for Android devices, Apple iPads and iPhones, as well as email-to-print capability for Symbian, BlackBerry and Windows mobile devices. IT departments can install PrintMe Mobile and deliver mobile printing on any printer connected to the network in as little as 30 minutes.

As the use of tablets continues to increase in the enterprise, employees are now expecting basic desktop-like functionality from their devices to enhance their productivity, and this includes the ability to print, said Louella Fernandes, associate director of print services and solutions at Quocirca Ltd., an independent research and analysis company with a primary focus on the European market. The difference is that in Europe, there is a much greater mix of mobile operating systems in companies. PrintMe Mobile is ideally suited to in this situation because it provides a universal approach to printing across a mixed device fleet and multiple mobile OS platforms.

The latest version of PrintMe Mobile provides secure Wi-Fi printing for employees or guests both inside and outside the corporate firewall. The enterprise software also eliminates anonymous Wi-Fi jobs, allowing companies to save money by tracking mobile printing via Equitrac, PaperCut, and other print management software.
