Durst Demonstrating New Tau 330 RSC

Durst will demonstrate its new Tau 330 RSC, showcasing UV inkjet single pass printing technology. Among the highlights of the system are its high printing resolution, unmatched printing speed and eight colour printing stations.

The Durst Tau 330 RSC is a UV inkjet label and package printing press featuring 330mm (13 inch) print width combined with leading edge print speed of up to 78 linear metres/min (245 feet/min) at a resolution of 1200 x 1200dpi. It runs at 1.485sqm per hour, and thanks to its eight colour stations (CMYK+W+OVG) with new designed high pigmented inks, it delivers outstanding, flexo-like print quality with close to 95% Pantone colour gamut coverage. Demonstrations will be conducted at Labelexpo Americas in Chicago from 25-27 September.

In line with Durst’s commitment to helping customers ‘Configure Your Digital Future’, the Tau 330 RSC is available as stand-alone version or can be configured as a ‘digital-flexo hybrid press’ with OMET’s Xflex series of conventional finishing options. The result is unlimited material flexibility for a vast range of applications.

Its configuration options include jumbo unwinder and material pre-treatment options like inline corona, web cleaner, priming as well as post press finishing options like varnishing, cold foil, lamination, die-cutting, slitting and rewinding.

Helmuth Munter, global segment manager for labels and package printing at Durst Group said, ‘The Durst Tau 330 RSC has already achieved over 10 successful installations in Europe. Our customers have been very impressed by its print quality, production speed as well as its low variable and total cost of ownership. It is a game-changer and is challenging conventional print technologies that will allow it to become the mainstream technology of label printing in the near future.’
