One of the headline-making new products for Duplo at drupa was the first public showing of the PFi Di-CUT 300. This on-demand die-cutter can produce a variety of digital print and packaging products. It performs multiple cuts, slits, slit score, kiss cuts, perforations and window punches for single or multiple-up pieces, on a wide range of paper stocks at 3000 sheets per hour.

A major benefit is an industry-first X&Y automated registration system. Registration mark smart technology enables the machine to counter image drift. It is operated by a simple touchscreen panel that provides micro adjustments.

Other new products the company showcased included:

ISADDLE PRO DUETTO DIGITAL SYSTEM

This is the world’s smartest and most powerful saddle-stitcher, combining the DSF-6000 sheet feeder with DSC-10/60i suction tower collator.

DC-646I

A raft of new intelligent features have been added to the DC-646 slitter/cutter/creaser, including expanded job memory to 250 jobs, PDF template generator, and side air feeding to ensure smoother operation.

DC-646 JDF

A nearline integration with the HP Indigo 7900 and 10000 digital presses, the DC-646 can perform automatically a wide range of finishing functions such as cutting, creasing and perforating to turn a sheet into a fully finished document in a single pass. Using JDF, the device receives finishing instructions directly from the job ticket produced in HP’s SmartStream Production Pro Server.

DC-646i IFS

A marriage of the DC-646i slitter/cutter/creaser with the Integrated Folding System (IFS), which allows seven common fold patterns to be produced on a range of papers stocks and weights, all with a crack-free finish.

350R PRO INLINE BOOKLET SYSTEM

A combination of the Duplo DBM-350 bookletmaker and trimmer, the ASM-350 squareback and SCC (slitter/cutter/creaser) combines with the Ricoh Pro™ C7100 series colour printer to create a professional inline booklet system.

DC-446

New features have been added to this system, which now has 20% faster processing speed to produce 60 A4 pages per minute, 20 more programmable creases per document, paper width increased from 320mm to 330.5mm, optional long paper trays (up to 670mm), and twice as many feed belts, giving more consistency when feeding various document sizes.

DC-350CR BOOKLET SYSTEM

This integrates the DC-446 DuCreaser with the DBM-350 bookletmaker and trimmer. The system can cut, crease and create booklets all in one pass. It features an integrated spine press for flatter books and optional ASM-350 square spine for that perfect bound effect. The DM Mini Collation System extends the productivity and inline processes of its current DM230V Esper Collator. Operated from a centrally located PC, the system offers inline stacking and banding of unaddressed mail sets to deliver up to 50% higher productivity.

DC-746

Duplo’s most powerful all-in-one multi-finishing system, the DC-746, was also on the drupa stand, demonstrating its improved versatility and performance.

Smarter workflow integrations between Duplo and its digital press partners were also demonstrated on the HP, Konica Minolta, Ricoh and Xerox stands.

Alex North, Duplo International’s Head of Commercial, said, 'Printers today are increasingly pushed for time and need to find smarter and better ways to drive efficiency and meet their customers’ demands. Duplo’s message for drupa 2016 was clear: our latest technology will work faster, smarter and better for our customers and help them achieve those goals.'
