Datalase Announces High Humidity Coating For Use In Paper And Printing

Developed as an alternative to print and apply labelling and high resolution inkjet printing of shipping data onto boxes. The High Humidity Coating addresses the challenges faced by brand owners and retailers seeking novel solutions to their mandatory shipping data needs. The coating is for use in the paper and corrugated printing industries.

The coating formulations have been optimised to provide unsurpassed product stability and excellent flow properties in geographical areas where high humidity is present. DataLase’s water based flexographic (WBF) high humidity coating is particularly relevant where high humidity is a factor in post-print processes, or lithographic presses equipped with water based coating units.

Used in combination with an appropriate CO2 laser marking system, DataLase WBF High Humidity Coating delivers important sustainability benefits, by eliminating label backing waste and/or hazardous ink disposal from supply chains by removing the need for consumables in production/manufacturing environments. Designed to be heat, moisture, scuff and rub resistant, the coating provides a stable image density that does not deteriorate.

It can be used for case coding applications in a variety of products including food and beverage and e-commerce on either brown or white paper and board substrates and is also suitable for non-direct food contact packaging applications.

Commenting on the launch, DataLase’s CSMO, Paul Dustain, said, ‘The high humidity coating is another example of DataLase using its technical expertise to develop and release an important supply chain solution, benefitting more challenging production environments at a time of significant increased demands.’
