Canon South Africa will launch the Océ Colorado 1640 at the Africa Print Expo, taking place from 13-15 September at Gallagher Convention Centre. A multitude of other innovations will also be showcased.
Océ Colorado 1640
This is the first 162.5cm (64 inch) roll-to-roll wide format printer built on new Canon UVgel technology. UVgel technology has been developed by Canon to deliver unprecedented productivity, matched with output quality on a broad range of media for optimum applications versatility. Working with the attributes of UVgel, the Océ Colorado 1640 has been engineered to high industrial standards to meet the peak production requirements of businesses of all sizes, producing high volumes of wide format graphics within the short turnaround times demanded by clients.
With a top speed of 159sqm/hr for applications such as billboards or outdoor banners, the printer offers print service providers (PSPs) an unprecedented level of productivity. Even at the highest level of quality for close-up indoor applications, the printer operates at a speed of 40sqm/hr.

The new varioPRINT 140 series offers unrivalled uptime and productivity, monochrome print quality and extended finishing options, all optimised by the introduction of the new Océ PRISMAsync 5 controller. The varioPRINT 140 produces no ozone, underlining its sustainable positioning in the market.
imagePRESS C10000VP
Also exhibited will be the imagePRESS C10000VP, combining exceptional quality, productivity and versatility at 100 ppm across a vast variety of applications. It can also run at maximum speed and effortlessly produce duplex print jobs on stock up to 350gsm. Automatic registration control minimises downtime, while Operator Maintenance speeds up servicing and maintenance. It offers an extensive range of digital front ends and in-line finishing for innovative applications across a wide range of media.
