HT Labelprint’s new EF 430mm 10-colour press will be mainly used for multi-layer applications and replaces a 22-year-old MPS flexo press since sold to a label printer in Jordan. The press trade-in for a new machine was made to provide a more efficient production environment and stay competitive.
HT Labelprint, based in Salzbergen, Germany and part of the Optimum Group™ Germany, added its fourth MPS flexo press, mainly for multi-layer label applications. The Optimum Group has branches in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Denmark with 40 MPS flexo presses in production.
The latest fully automated 430mm wide MPS flexo press for HT Labelprint features 10-colours with MPS patented E-sleeves, Apex GTT laser engraved anilox rolls, and the GEW E4C high power, water-cooled UV curing system.
It is equipped with delam/relam, the MPS web turner bar to print labels on the backside or glue side, screen printing, cold foil, and lamination on rail. A permanent web extension in a customised frame with a servo-driven chill drum is also a feature of the press and includes the MPS 3-ply cross-over laminating unit. With its ergonomically designed lower position, the extension is much easier to operate and saves substantial set-up time.
‘We purchased this new MPS machine to offer our customers more possibilities and respond even better to their needs with label production as well as printing flexible packaging,’ said Matthias Gerloff, Optimum Group HT Labelprint.
‘In addition, it is an asset for our employees, as the press is known for its ease of use. The combination of excellent quality, high productivity and unlimited flexibility makes this machine extremely valuable to Optimum Group HT Labelprint.
‘MPS and HT Labelprint have shared a longstanding and positive partnership,’ said Erik Blomjous, MPS Regional Sales Director. ‘The proven MPS technology with additional benefits of connectivity for further improved performance will enhance their printing production for years to come. As their 22-year-old MPS EP flexo press was extremely well maintained, it was easy to find a new home for it in the Middle East. The new owner will be very happy producing fantastic labels with this robust and stable workhorse.’
