The BOBST NOVA RS 5003 is a highly productive gravure press that delivers superior performance on a variety of flexible materials, including new eco-friendly packaging substrates. Easy to operate, fast to makeready and change over, it features BOBST’s unique solutions for sustainable operation with minimum waste for water-based or solvent-based ink printing applications.
India-based company Vaibhav Plasto will be installing the two new BOBST gravure presses to expand its market reach, keep up with the competition and deliver the highest quality flexible packaging to its discerning customers in the food and beverage sectors.
Vaibhav Plasto is a fast growing group of companies with over 2000 employees. In 2007, the group diversified by creating a new division under the name Vaibhav Plasto Printing and Packaging Pvt. Ltd, which is located in the Hingna Industrial Area, in Nagpur Maharashtra. The group operates in two verticals, RC Plasto Tanks and Pipes which is managed by Neelesh and Vishal Agrawal, while the flexible printing, packaging and shrink sleeve labels business division is managed by Vaibhav Agrawal, the Director of Vaibhav Plasto Printing and Packaging.
The company installed India’s first BOBST RS 5002 gravure press in 2015. Trusting BOBST technology, productivity and flexibility, it has recently placed an order for two new BOBST NOVA RS 5003 gravure presses due for delivery and installation in 2022, and early 2023, respectively. Agrawal said, ‘We wanted to expand our market reach with the best machines available. After extensive research, we found that the major players in the market were using BOBST machines and that many of them had made repeat purchases.’
He added, ‘Our own previous experience with the service and support from the BOBST team was also very good, so we felt that BOBST would be the right fit for our plans to expand further and that their support will be essential. In addition, the RS 5003 demonstrated much higher capabilities than similar gravure presses.’
‘Market prices for finished products are very competitive, so we need excellent machines with high productivity and accuracy for consistent output and low wastage,’ explained Agrawal. ‘Our production capacity is set to reach 2500 tonnes per month of flexible packaging with the addition of the two new presses and multilayer plants.’
He concluded, ‘One of the biggest advantages of BOBST is that they have multiple machines of the same model in the market and an excellent proven track record. We noticed that other machine manufacturers are yet to build such a history with their machines.’
