WEBcnx 2024.1 has now been released, bringing with it the most significant improvement in performance along with some much sought-after new features and enhancements.
Web-based platform WEBcnx integrates with Arden’s packaging CAD/CAM software Impact, as well as other workflow systems, acting as a virtual project manager. It’s the ultimate workflow solution for the packaging sector, enabling users to automate the project management of their packaging production from wherever they are in the world, streamlining workflow in the packaging supply chain.
Key Updates In WEBcnx 2024.1:
1) Custom Field Expressions allow administrators to build in-line formulas into Item Types that perform real-time calculations as users fill them out. These calculations can use data from connected lookup custom fields or system fields, such as customer information. This enhancement allows forms to compute complex figures, like instant quotes that incorporate customer-specific discount levels and other formulae in an ‘Excel’ style format. Full support is given for linking to data held in associated tables, including die-cutting machine data, material cost information and any other data in lookup database tables.
2) An optional new Quick Layout module allows users to create a manufacturing layout of any one-up design, whether it’s an existing design in the database or a newly created design from running a standard or importing a supported CAD file. Simply select the die-cutting machine or stock sheet size you want to create your layout for, and the layout pattern for how the design should be laid out or interlocked. Real-time machine and fitted sheet efficiency statistics will quickly tell users all the information they need to know about their new multi-up layout, making this the ideal tool for estimators and production planners.
3) A streamlining of Standards browsing and searching makes it easier to view ‘My Standards’ and browse the various categories of standards, including FEFCO Corrugated, ECMA Folding Carton and displays. Thumbnails are now bigger with the full Standard code and description displayed. Searching for specific standards has also been simplified, allowing the user to search for any standard, no matter what folder they’re viewing. Users can easily view search results, and even after closing the dialogue, they can view the previous search results next time the Standards dialogue is opened.
4) The form designer has undergone a significant redevelopment with a much easier to use and more responsive user interface.
5) The overall user interface has also had a refresh to improve the usability for touchscreen and mobile users.
6) In addition to the end user improvements, WEBcnx 2024.1 has also had the first phase of improvements to the installation, upgrade and configuration of the software.
From order entry to design, WEBcnx was created for the packaging industry, linking the different parts of a business together to ensure people know what to do and when to do it.
It’s compatible with Arden’s Impact CAD software, is also fully customisable to customers’ individual workflow systems, and has the ability to integrate customers and suppliers into the design and approval process.
Peter Barke, Product Manager at Arden Software UK, said, ‘We are always striving to enhance our software to deliver the best possible user experience and efficiency for our customers. WEBcnx 2024.1 embodies this commitment, with significant performance improvements and new features that will help streamline workflow across the packaging supply chain.’
