Antalis South Africa (Pty) Ltd has been awarded with the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS) certification in the form of ISO18001 accreditation as a paper merchant and as a warehouse operation for its Head Office and Johannesburg Warehousing operations respectively.
Raymond Waldeck, Managing Director at Antalis South Africa said that the OHSAS 18001 certification is part of the Antalis Health and Safety (H&S) roadmap. ‘This forms part of Antalis’ quest for operational excellence in H&S, which is the third pillar on the Antalis H&S roadmap.’
The other pillars are management commitment, communications, employee engagement and influencing safe behaviour. Waldeck explained that the awarding of the certification follows extensive work on H&S at the company. ‘The last couple of months Antalis worked hard to ensure that it would pass the stringent requirements for ISO18001. This included a number of audits and interventions.’
He also thanked all staff for their effort and contribution in reaching this achievement. ‘I would especially like to thank Gerhard Viljoen and his team for this achievement.’
