Africa Print Expo 2017: Stand-By-Stand Guide

We've compiled a useful guide of product highlights being displayed at Africa Print 2017 Expo, co-located with Sign Africa, FESPA Africa and Africa LED, and taking place from 13-15 September at Gallagher Convention Centre.

Canon South Africa, Hall 2, F1

The company will launch the Océ Colorado 1640. This is the first 162.5cm (64 inch) roll-to-roll wide format printer built on new Canon UVgel technology. UVgel technology has been developed to deliver unprecedented productivity, matched with output quality on a broad range of media for optimum application versatility. Working with the attributes of UVgel, the Océ Colorado 1640 has been engineered to high industrial standards to meet the peak production requirements of businesses of all sizes, producing high volumes of wide format graphics within the short turnaround times demanded by clients.

Fellowes Beswick, Hall 2, A6

Powis Parker Fastback 20 Thermal Binding System

Features include graphical user interface, with strip, hardcover, and perfect binding. The product binds 10 to 350 sheets in 13-20 seconds, requires minimal training and makes it easy to produce professional documents.

Matrix MX-370P and Matrix MX-530P Pneumatic Laminating Systems

Both machines allow the user to bring laminating in-house, save time and money and feature multiple finishing options (laminate prints with gloss, matte, soft touch or anti-scratch films), and include pneumatic rollers (giving greater pressure and ensuring a superior bond to the user’s prints). It is ideal for short print runs, commercial and digital printers, and copy and print shops.

Fujifilm South Africa, Hall 2, E1

The company will launch the Acuity 15 flatbed printer. This will be the first time this UV inkjet printer is being exhibited in Africa. The printer matches the renowned high quality produced by Fujifilm’s Acuity Select 20 and 30 series, but at a lower investment cost. Designed for light production, the Acuity 15 offers near-photographic image quality and print speeds of up to 23 square metres per hour. Much like the Acuity 20 and 30 series, it boasts a robust platform that can print on rigid and flexible media up to 50.8mm thick. The vacuum system also reduces the need for masking, making it easy to load the media onto the bed.

Hi Tech Business Systems, Hall 2 D14

The company will showcase its Smart 460Z5 Electric Guillotine and Smart 976V7 High Speed Perfect Binder. The Smart 460Z5 Electric Guillotine features an auto clamping system on both sides, light curtain safety, powerful inclined cutting system, optical cutting line, blade cutting depth adjustment, LCD display and different clamping pressures. The Smart 976V7 High Speed Perfect Binder features a cabinet with better support, block thickness settings, three binding modes, counter and optional creasing unit.

Konica Minolta South Africa, Hall 2, G1

The Platinum Sponsor will debut the AccurioPress C6100. The series of colour production printers are designed to support a highly responsive print room environment. The fast and flexible series has been created for operations that recently started digital printing and are now expanding their service as well as those that need to handle large, repeat, print volumes. With the Integrated Colour Care Unit, the press overcomes some of the biggest pain points in digital print production such as time-consuming front to back registration, extensive colour set-up and complex paper set-up operations. Uptime is assured via highly automated features such as automated colour adjustment, skill-less operation, constant control of gradation and front-to-back registration.

Also being showcased is the IQ-501 Integrated Color Care Unit, an optional unit available on the C6100 that is revolutionary to digital printing. Many time-consuming and cumbersome quality adjustment tasks can be automated with the unit, which achieves higher quality and more reliable consistency.

FW1230 (Black)
ComColor black FW1230 is the right choice for low-cost, high-speed printing. This cost-efficient, ultra-fast black and white printer can be used with a variety of optional post-printing accessories for a reliable in-house print solution. It also features an energy-saving design.

FW5230 (Colour)
The ComColor FW5230 boasts ultra-fast print speed combined with a fast first print time to streamline printing, helping make busy work environments more efficient. Its low power consumption prevents paper from curling to reduce paper jams. Because output requires no cooling, pages can be sent immediately after printing to any of the optional finishers, vastly reducing production times.

GD 9630
The ComColor GD series, which features a small footprint that makes it the ideal choice for all types of work environments, ensures high levels of productivity. Exceptional reliability in the face of consistent high-volume print jobs meets the specified demands of production and transactional printing industries. Newly-developed diamond-coated rollers supported by ball bearings, as well as other redesigned components, improve durability over the lifespan of the printer.

Trisave, Hall 2, G11

The company will launch the next level of automatic card cutting machines. The Dumor 331 BSC functions as a versatile slitter, cutter, creaser or perforator for digital printers, with a wide range of applications such as business cards, greeting cards, raffle tickets, leaflets, brochures and more. The air suction feeder has a capacity of 50mm and the creasing tool can be interchanged with a perforating tool. This addition to the company’s existing range of entry level and table top card cutters is suitable for larger digital printer or copy shops.
