Africa Print East London Expo Brings Latest Printing Technology To Eastern Cape

The successful Africa Print East London expo attracted 265 visitors from East London, Port Elizabeth, Queenstown, King William's Town, Butterworth, Mthatha and Alice, with 100 enthusiastic visitors attending the expo within the first hour. The event, which was held at the East London ICC on 15 February, showcased cutting-edge technology to the eastern region of the Eastern Cape for the first time, such as: digital printing, 3D printing, finishing, label printing, wide format digital and more.

Exhibitors' expectations were exceeded with the high turnout and enthusiasm from visitors.

Kevin Roy, Graficomp, said, ‘I made good contacts from areas surrounding East London and I got to meet with existing customers.'

‘People have been positive about the expo and the venue. We have met new people, including companies from Port Elizabeth that we were able to put directly in touch with our branch there,’ said Neil Dowden of Fellowes Beswick.

John Forbes, Upward Spiral said, 'We had a very busy stand with a lot of interest and solid prospects.'

'We did well and got definite leads to quote on,' said Henry Calitz, Rapid 3D.

Wesley Groenewald from Graphix Supply World said, 'We spoke to a lot of people from East London. Everyone is looking at new technology and the cost of print. We have solutions that offer quality at the right price.'

Judges visited each stand at the expo and judged the stands according to criteria based on design, staff friendliness and professionalism. The stand winners and runners up included:

Africa Print medium winner: Konica Minolta.
Africa Print medium runner up: NRG Office Solutions (Pty) Ltd.

Africa Print small winner: Kemtek Imaging Systems.
Africa Print small runner up: Fellowes Beswick.
