The recent Africa Print Durban Expo held at the Durban ICC from 5-6 March saw over 520 companies visit from KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape and Free State to explore the diverse opportunities that were exhibited. Visitors flocked from towns such as Ballito, Richards Bay, Pietermaritzburg, Westville, Pinetown, Port Shepstone, Matatiele, Empangeni, Lusikisiki, Hillcrest, Phoenix, Bluff and Vryheid, to name a few.
Exhibitors were pleased with the turnout and quality of leads they generated and the sales they made:
‘For us the highlight was the Change One Woman networking event held during the expo. The platform is growing and it’s quite a positive space for ladies in the industry to be participating in. We were able to generate some leads for training from that platform, so there was great attendance and the ladies really enjoyed it,’ said Abisha Katerere, Printing SA.
‘We had absolutely excellent, quality people coming past our stand, and we had a good response from visitors. So it was a very good show for us,’ said Clive Versfeld, ORAFOL South Africa.
‘We very happy with the leads and day two was quite busy with foot traffic. It was pleasant to have good quality leads come in,’ said Martin Swart, Trotec Laser South Africa.
‘We got good quality leads. We currently have a distribution centre that is open for collection and delivery but are looking to expand with a new Durban branch, so the show was useful to make good contacts in the region,’ said Thomas Smith, IPlastics.
‘Another great show in Durban. Lots of existing customers come on and see us which is one of our objectives, all the networking, and then obviously new customers to get new leads of which we were very fortunate and some very good leads. We sold some machines and were very happy with the show,’ said Ron van Breda, Sign-Tronic.
‘We would like to extend our thanks to our new clients in Durban. We appreciate your support. We had an awesome show and delivered flatbeds and DTF machinery direct from the expo to our customers,’ said Eckhardt Kröhnert, Fortune Africa.
Judges visited each stand at the expo and judged the stands according to criteria based on design, construction, special traffic flow, presentation, attitude of staff and messaging. The results are as follows:
