Africa Print Durban Expo Brings Latest Printing Technology To KwaZulu-Natal

The successful Africa Print Durban expo attracted 1040 visitors from surrounding areas. The event, which was held at the Durban International Convention Centre on 19 and 20 April, showcased cutting-edge technology, such as: digital printing, 3D printing, finishing, label printing, wide format digital and more. The Africa Print expos are sponsored by Konica Minolta South Africa.

Exhibitors' expectations were exceeded with the high turnout and enthusiasm from visitors.

Nissan Samlall, Konica Minolta South Africa KZN account manager, reported a very good response, ‘The launch of the C71cf digital label printer and other products on our stand attracted a lot of attention.’

Rakesh Rosen, Midcomp consumables director said that they saw a lot of quality visitors.

‘The response we received was positive, mostly because the Durban market and customers know what they are looking for,’ said Fujifilm GM Tomo Hemmi.

Red Hand Sign Supplies' business development manager Rudi Bothma said, ‘We had a good turnout with solid leads. We liked the flow of visitors and saw new visitors that we can relate to.’

Nicole Anderson, Eprofile sales and marketing director said that there was genuine interest in the stand.

Intamarket technical sales representative Jacob Machaba said the show was very successful, ’The visitors we saw were not aware of our product innovations, so it was a good opportunity to teach them more about what we have to offer.’

Arctec MD Allan Rawlinson said the company was very excited to see what KZN had to offer, ‘There was a positive response to the Trojan3 printer and and we had sufficient leads.’

Judges visited each stand at the expo and judged the stands according to criteria based on design, staff friendliness and professionalism. The stand winners and runners up included:

Small (up to 12sqm shell scheme):
First: Fellowes Beswick and Royce Imaging
Runner-up: Eprofile, Chemosol and Sheetco

Medium (13-36sqm) floor space:
First: Konica Minolta South Africa
Runner-up: Midcomp

Medium (13-36sqm) shell scheme:
First place tie: Arctec and Kemtek Imaging Systems
Runner-up: Printing SA

Large (37sqm and bigger) floor space:
First place: Graphix Supply World

Upcoming expo's include:
Zambia: 8-9 June, Mulungushi International Conference Centre.
Johannesburg: 13-15 September, Gallagher Convention Centre.
