Ricoh has reported that three out of four visitors to Ricoh’s stand at Hunkeler Innovationdays was a potential customer. The company gathered a record number of leads compared to previous years and noted a rise in interest in technology and services that are aimed at extending print services and increasing productivity for corporate and commercial print environments.

The InfoPrint 5000 GP printer, with the Extended Media Dryer option and seen for the first time in Europe, was particularly popular, based on its greater flexibility for books and high quality reports on a wide range of media.

A number of our South African customers attended Hunkeler Innovationdays and viewed the latest global developments in production printing, said Vaughan Patterson, sales manager for the production printing business group at Ricoh SA. They saw the Ricoh Pro C901 Graphic Arts + cut sheet production system and how it supports marketing, direct mailing, and packaging applications, among others. They also experienced the capabilities of the new systems and solutions to expand beyond print, open up new business opportunities for them, and tools that will expand their service to their customers.

Patterson said demand for demonstrations of the cut sheet and continuous feed portfolio of systems and solutions was high. Software solution demonstrations were also in demand and clients were eager to view ProcessDirector Express, Track and Trace, TotalFlow Cadence and TotalFlow DocEnhancer, all of which were recently launched in Europe and will soon be available.

They were interested in those solutions because they improve workflow process efficiencies and provide ideal ways to enhance performance while exploring new opportunities, said Patterson.

Three of every four visitors to Ricoh’s stand were potential customers that were looking for a partner to work with them as they grow their businesses.

Ricoh also displayed and demonstrated the InfoPrint 5000 MP in mono mode. It was particularly applicable to commercial and transactional printers running monochrome books, statements, manuals and other similar documents. The 5000 MP offers the option to convert to a full colour system, as needs change, which protects the initial investment.
