Ricoh SA is showcasing a wide range of devices, systems and solutions that range from the graphic arts to industrial and, for the first time in South Africa, new wide format printers at the Africa Print Regional Expo at the ICC Durban from 6-7 March.
The wide format MPCW2200 is a four-colour, wide format printer designed to address the CAD market that uses Liquid Gel ink and is ideally suited for a variety of industries, including manufacturing, architecture, engineering, construction, planning authorities and product design. It is also expected to meet the demands of the print room and quick print markets. Because of the quick drying properties of Liquid Gel ink, the system provides high productivity, minimises blurring and produces superb line accuracy.
Ricoh has booked a larger space occupying four stands, E5, E6, E11, and E12 for a total of 36sqm, as well as a new designer stand, to demonstrate the significance of the KwaZulu-Natal market which has been a bastion of the local industry and dates back to 1844 when Cornelius Moll introduced the first printing press to the region.
Exhibiting at Africa Print Regional Expo in KwaZulu-Natal in the past has shown us that there is clear market demand for our solutions in the region, including production printing and especially industrial printing, said Vaughan Patterson, sales manager for the production printing business group at Ricoh SA. The Expo is the preeminent showcase of our industry and attracts a focused audience looking for solutions that are a step ahead of their needs. That is why we have invested more in the Regional Expo this year than in previous years with a new stand design that will help to highlight the significance we place on the region.
The company will demonstrate its Printronix P7000 industrial Cartridge Series of Line Matrix Printers. The new cartridge ribbon offers improved quality, productivity and costs. Compared to the previous generation of line matrix spool ribbons, the P7000 Cartridge generates savings of up to 20% of the consumable cost per page. It makes the P7000 Cartridge an economical replacement for Printronix P5000 and P7000 spool printers. The High Definition P7000 Cartridge models offer a proven plug and print alternative for expensive and unreliable laser printers. The range includes the Open Pedestal, Cabinet and Zero Tear.
Also on display will be the ProC751 which has established a reputation for high print image quality and an ability to handle a variety of media sizes and weights. The device enables a diverse set of requirements such as high-mix, low lot size, and short delivery time.
