The update is integrated with an email client, BoardingPass, which allows customer-facing staff to instantly validate PDF files for print, identifies errors that require a file to be resubmitted and automatically drafts an email reply.
This enables customer service agents to gain the power to provide quick and understandable job feedback, without the need for prepress. In the latest software iteration, customers benefit from white overprint support and enhanced email communications.
The showcase feature of the latest update is added support for white overprint, which is a common print error causing white objects or text not to be visible on printed documents. Adding an extra line of defence from errors, waste and machine stops, BoardingPass can now detect this issue, warn users and make white objects or text visible.
‘BoardingPass is the industry-leading PDF validating software for good reason, and it manages to keep that title because we are continuously driving innovation to meet the needs of our customers. One pain-point we recognised was white overprint, which has been a thorn in the side of printers for a long time. This new update overcomes that and enables users to fully validate PDFs with ease,’ said Steven Nuyt, Head of Product, Enfocus.
This latest update from Enfocus also sees the software include email communication improvements. Users can now add email templates, and use variables in email templates, to communicate more efficiently to customers and the prepress department, while also including the original mail content when forwarding.
‘Operational efficiency is key to our industry and these new updates are focused on driving speed, accuracy and higher quality to ensure right first-time print meeting this need,’ said Nuyt. BoardingPass updates are now available for both existing and new customers.
