Epson has debuted its SurePress L-4033AW, a high-quality, short-run digital label press with white ink, at drupa, building on the success of the SurePress L-4033A. Delivering exceptional print quality and accurate colour reproduction on a wide variety of standard label substrates, the L-4033AW enables label converters and commercial printers to expand their service offering and improve profitability.
To give a wide colour gamut for precise colour matching and accurate reproduction of spot/speciality colours, Epsons SurePress AQ ink-set includes green and orange inks. The difference is especially noticeable in the bright green to yellow and yellow-orange-red portions of the colour space, with higher colour saturation and lifelike shades that make labels more eye-catching.
The ink-set now includes white ink for solid, opaque white printing on materials such as clear film and metallic substrates. Users have the flexibility of printing white first or last.
Epsons Micro Piezo printheads use micro-fine nozzles to deliver perfectly accurate dot shape and placement. This results in superior colour quality and sharp detail for barcodes and small text. Epsons Variable-size Droplet Technology enables ink droplets as small as three picolitres to be produced for smooth gradations and optimum image quality.

The Epson SurePress L-4033AW will be available towards the end of the year.
