Africa Print was present for the Johannesburg leg of the Thunderbolt Solutions national roadshow, which included events in Durban and Cape Town.
Customers and visitors were given a personal tour by sales director Wayne Stevens around the recently opened premises in Longmeadow Business Estate on 19 April, including the company’s expansive warehouse which features a multitude of different product brands, neatly categorised and ready for dispatch at a moment’s notice.
The event hosted technical consultants each representing two of Thunderbolt Solutions’ products: Trelleborg Printing Solutions and Weilburger Graphics.
Trelleborg sales area manager Nicola Tugnoli and Weilburger head of technical service Bastian Schafer each gave a presentation on their company’s products, namely Trelleborg offset blankets and Weilburger water-based and UV coating solutions.
Tugnoli discussed some of the company’s innovations, particularly Vulcan Sunrise, which is designed for the latest UV applications; Vulcan Folio, the top of the range sheetfed offset blanket; Vulcan Zenith, which features good ink release and easy washing properties and the Printec coating plate, which has polyester backing for easy mounting on the press.
Schafer discussed water-based coatings offered by Thunderbolt Solutions; Senolith Hi Gloss 350554; Senosoft 350210, a water-based coating comparable to soft touch laminating as well as new products recently launched in Europe.
‘Our presentation was geared towards our clients in the packaging industry,’ said Stevens. ‘By having our partners present we could ensure that the product message was brought across. Moreover, we wanted to emphasise how well these two products work hand in hand with each other.’
