Konica Minolta South Africa will showcase its award winning Best Production Line of the Year production solutions, the bizhub PRESS C6000/ C7000, bizhub PRESS C8000 and bizhub PRO B1200 as well as the newly-launched photo book solution, photo-PRESS at the Africa Print Durban RoadShow. The event will take place from 14-15 March at the Durban ICC.

Delegates at the show will be able to examine and discuss with company experts machines such as the C6000, which was also named as Best Production Cut-Sheet Colour Printer of 2011 by the European Digital Press Association (EDP), and the C7000, which received the award for “Best Colour Light Production System, by Equipment Research and Test Laboratories Inc. (BERTL).

According to Leon Minnie, Konica Minolta South Africa’s product specialist for production solutions, the bizhub PRESS C7000’s short-run colour consistency is the best ever tested, earning it the renowned five-star rating by the imaging industrys leading independent authority, BLI, for the least colour drift seen to date.

This is the first time that a production unit has received this award. In addition, its processing speed has shown similar outstanding results during BLI’s raster image processor job stream test. These awards only stand to emphasise the quality of these machines, said Minnie.

Konica Minolta South Africa will also be using the roadshow to showcase its comprehensive photo book solution, photo-PRESS.

photo-PRESS is the ideal business enabler and perfect solution to tap into the tremendous market potential of photo book production. It helps to create, control and organise photo books, calendars, year books, greeting cards, wall art and a host of other printable products that can then be produced economically and in superb quality on any Konica Minolta colour digital press or using a different printing process, said Minnie.

photo-PRESS comprises three solutions, designer, web and production – intended to drive more volume through digital presses. The software is also available in two business models, standard and professional. Each has been tailored to accommodate specific needs for most business sizes, budgets and applications.

The latest release is the culmination of more than two years of development work, equating to over 25,000 man-hours, 250 enhancements and in excess of 250,000 lines of new code, and has resulted in an entire application of which more than 50 percent consists of new features. In addition to these products, Konica Minolta South Africa will showcase its black and white digital machines, as well as its VDP and colour management solutions to potential clients.

Discussing all of Konica Minolta South Africa’s various production solutions, enables clients to obtain a full picture from one of the market leaders in the imaging market, added Minnie.
