One of the beneficiaries of the Novus Holdings Future Foundations initiative is the First Step Academy, which Novus Holdings has been supporting from 2013. In the past year, the group has contributed R35,000 towards the Academy’s mission to provide work readiness and bridging education, training and development for young adults.
Novus Holdings also supports the Academy by providing work exposure to some of its graduates, hosting ‘a day at the office’ excursions for students and recruiting learners for their print and packaging bridging programme in the Paarl area.
‘We are privileged to be able to invest in the future workforce of our country. First Step Academy’s approach to preparing the youth for the world of work and encouraging them to become socially responsible adults is aligned to our values of empowerment,’ said Nico Grobbelaar, group executive of human resources at Novus Holdings.
