Papersmith recently handed over another cheque to the value of R22000 to the Joint Aid Management South Africa (JAM SA), bringing the total value of the partnership so far to almost R90000. The partnership dates back to 2009 and is stronger than ever.

JAM SA, a South African founded international humanitarian relief and development organisation, firmly believes in ‘Helping Africa Help Itself’. Such a vision is realised through programmes that focus on Food Security, Nutritional Intervention, Vulnerable Child Care, Skills Development and Agricultural Development. JAM operates in five countries in Africa: South Africa, Angola, Mozambique, Rwanda and South Sudan.

With every procured ton of Stephen paper, Papersmith & Son (Pty) Ltd donates R2000 towards JAM’s feeding programme. It costs R30 to feed a child for a month, and R360 to feed a child for an entire year. Papersmith & Son’s donations thus far have fed a total of 246 children in JAM SA supported ECD centres with their nutritious porridge.

JAM provides 50 grams of fortified porridge mix to feed just over 44000 children in ECD centres in South Africa. This porridge provides at least 75% of a child’s daily micro-nutrient requirements. Filled with this highly nutritious porridge, JAM’s signature Red Bowl represents hope to these children by contributing to their nourished bodies and minds.
