Bidvest company, Konica Minolta South Africa (KMSA), showcased its innovative production solutions at Africa Print 2014 which was co-located with the inaugural FESPA Africa (2-4 July, Johannesburg, Gallagher Convention Centre).
KMSA’s innovative solutions included the new bizhub PRO C1060L and bizhub PRO and PRESS C1060/C1070, the flagship bizhub PRESS C1100, plus the bizhub PRESS 1250 and bizhub PRO B951.
The bizhub PRO and PRESS C1060/C1070 are aimed at print providers in a light- to-medium-level production environment, as each provide an easy transition into the digital print field, offering in-line finishing, precise colour consistency and image quality, alongside high media flexibility.
The new bizhub PRESS C1100 series, which is ideally placed to create new sources of revenue for customers and maximise uptime and print orders, is perfect for graphic communication providers, central reprographic departments, and anyone who needs large print volumes delivered at high speeds.
Furthermore, visitors were able to see the organisation’s range of black and white equipment: the bizhub PRESS 1250 series, which offers print/copy speeds up to 125 ppm, high-volume monthly duty cycle of three million impressions, and real-time image density and toner ratio sensors to maintain image stability over long press runs; as well as the bizhub PRO 951, an ideal entry product into digital black and white printing.
Leon Minnie, product manager: production systems at KMSA explained, ‘We wanted to show that Konica Minolta South Africa has something for everybody. In today’s printing industry, commercial business owners are looking for highly versatile printing platforms that deliver the lowest cost per copy. A tall order perhaps, but with our award-winning production range we certainly meet these requirements. We wanted to leverage this event to create interest in, demonstrate and promote our production machines to clients; using the platform to officially launch the C1100 as well as the C1060C1070 and C1060L. These presses were very well received and were highly complemented. The C1100 also drew a lot of attention and showcased Konica Minolta’s continued commitment to the print industry and its ability to successfully compete with other manufacturers with this wider product offering.
‘We furthermore used the event to inform our clients about the KM-1, a B2-size cut-sheet digital inkjet press, which is set to enhance our production range and elevate us into a segment that was traditionally only available to litho and inkjet technology. Overall, we aimed to show that Konica Minolta machines are more than just ‘business card’ printers, but that these machines can also print a magnitude of print products, allowing printers to be more successful with their digital print department and, importantly, have a competitive edge in the print industry.’
