Today marks the 50 day countdown until the Africa Print Expo, taking place from 21-23 August at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Africa Print will showcase the entire digital print process, featuring everything from sheetfed A3 machines to grand format digital equipment and will include both suppliers and manufacturers of commercial litho and digital printers, finishing equipment, software, media and consumables.
The Expo is widely regarded as the print industrys gateway into Africa. Over 5850 visitors attended the 2012 expo, with greater numbers expected to attend in 2013, including many international visitors from across the African continent and elsewhere.
Notable brands being exhibited include: Xerox, Kodak, HP, Océ, Konica Minolta, Ricoh, MGI, Morgana and Optimus to name a few.
Exhibitor highlights
Africa Print Expo sponsor, Xerox, will showcase its new colour C75 and J75 presses. With the growth of colour pages still a sweet spot for printers, Xerox’s new digital presses make it easier to capture more lucrative jobs, ranging from photo books and brochures to direct-mail pieces and catalogues.
Antalis South Africa will exhibit the Kodak NexPress SX3300 digital production press, which features market-edge image quality, lightning fast processing power and industry-leading uptime and availability.
Ferrostaal will showcase the MGI DP8700 XL. The press offers the widest range of substrates available, the largest cut sheet size (up to 102cm) in production mode and laser-safe prints.
Conferences and activities
The Expo Conference programme will feature a diverse group of industry experts and leaders, addressing various topics related to the wide format and digital printing industries.
Transport and accommodation
Getting to the venue is very convenient. Visitors can take the world-class Gautrain from OR Tambo International airport directly to Sandton, and walk one short block to the Sandton Convention Centre.

Entrance to the Expo is free. Doors are open from 9am to 6pm on Wednesday August 21, and Thursday August 22. On Friday, August 23, doors are open from 9am – 5pm.
