Platinum exhibition sponsor Konica Minolta South Africa (KMSA) held a digital label printing presentation for a number of guests during the Africa Print Durban Expo, which took place at the Durban International Convention Centre from 19-20 April. The company also exhibited its bizhub PRESS C71cf, C1100 and C1060 models at the event.

Manager of Production Print at KMSA, Leon Minnie, described the launch as a success, ‘The presentation went very well. We had a good turnout of clients who showed a lot of interest and have certainly asked the right questions.

‘It was evident from the meeting that a lot of people are increasingly considering digital; conventional is more expensive and they are looking for something alternative and cost-effective. I’m happy with the quality of clients that came through, we saw a mixture of label converters and traditional litho printers looking at diversifying into digital label printing.

‘We presented the C71cf, which allowed us to take attendees through some of the label trends in the market, industry trends, how the volume of labels is shifting, and what their options are. There are higher and smaller value items out in the market, and this presentation described how the C71cf fits into that picture.’

Minnie added that the label industry is new to KMSA, so those within that industry who are not familiar with the company had the opportunity to meet representatives and understand how KMSA operates.

The presentation ran over the course of the two-day expo.
